Sidewalk Astronomy January 2018 - - CANCELED

As much as I hate to do it, I am canceling tonight's (Saturday, January 27th) Sidewalk Astronomy event that was scheduled to take place at Sarasota's Riverview High School.

Although it doesn't appear that it will rain until tomorrow, the most optimistic forecast for this evening calls for 70-80% cloud cover--with a strong likelihood that it'll be nearly 100% overcast. :-(

Keep your fingers crossed for clear skies NEXT month! Assuming the clouds part, we'll be set up on Saturday, February 24th at the Celery Fields in Sarasota.

So tonight may be a good time to catch the latest movie, or binge-watch something on Netflix!  ;-)

It seems event after event has been clouded out this year. We've had very little luck with Crowley or the Manatee County sponsored events either, be they solar or nighttime.

I thought this was the SUNSHINE STATE!!!
