Hi all! I just noticed recently that our area will have 60% coverage during the upcoming eclipse on the 14th. I think it will be from noon to 3 PM our time. Wondering if that would be interesting enough for a public viewing somewhere? For this one, I'm going to watch it using a camera with a solar filter. I could hook that up to a monitor and folks can watch the progress safely on the screen. Just a thought!

I have for sale one (1) Celestron Nexstar 8SE 8” telescope, with tripod..  This telescope is in like new condition. I bought it new , assembled it on the Celestron tripod , and it has never been outdoors.. I have had medical problems and no longer  have a use for this telescope..    .  It also comes with the following equipment, all brand new..

Celestron  eyepiece  accessory kit w/moon filter  ($189.95)

FREE OBSERVATORY DOME!

Jason Mocherman, the head of Riverview High School's planetarium, has alerted me that the Sarasota Military Academy is looking for (hopefully!) a Local Group member who would be interested in acquiring their observatory dome. (Pictured)

It measures 6' in height, and the base is 9' x 12'.

The ONLY catch is that if you want it, you'll have to go get it yourself... or make arrangements to have it delivered to you.
